McQueen- restaurant review

Happy Wednesday! How has your week been?

Last weekend my bff and I went to McQueen in Shoreditch.

We managed to snag a fantastic deal on Wowcher; 3 courses and wine for 2 people all for a whooping £24! I know…pretty amazing!

The restaurant is a nod to Steve McQueen who was the epitome of cool in his time. The interior reminds of me of a gentleman’s club but cooler! With lots of images of the man himself, lights and pieces of art, I think it truly represents him to a T.

Okay, so now to the food….

Starters consisted of a feta cheese, chick peas (in Trinidad & Tobago we call it channa), peanut butter, aubergines and a sauce. Insert double heart emoji here. It was so delish and light and fresh!

Next up we had mains, my bff chose the fish (sorry didn’t get a picture :() and I selected the grilled pork steak, sauteed potato, cabbage, pancetta with chilli and garlic. Again another lovely dish but, I found it a little salty and the pork was a little bit tough. Apart from that simply delish!

Dessert, is always the favourite part of the whole dining experience for me. What can I say? I have a massive sweet tooth! As it was a set menu, we had two options; ice cream or raspberry panna cotta. We both went for the latter and didn’t regret it. The flavours were perfectly balanced and just absolutely divine from the first mouthful to the last.

All in all a great time! We even had a little surprise in that we had a whole bottle of wine as part of the experience. I would recommend this place for date night or just for you and your girlies to go celebrate or just treat yourselves too.
