I love travelling. There I’ve said it! 🙂
I enjoy going to different places, trying new foods and getting a feel for different cultures. Plus it’s pretty cool to see the amazingness that’s out there in the world. I’m sure you’ve heard it all before that travelling broadens your horizons and you learn more about yourself? It’s all true!
I wish I had the opportunity and finances to travel more than I currently do and perhaps one day that’ll happen. Until that happens, I decided to compile a bucket list of the places I’d like to visit within the next 5 years. Here goes…
First up is Cuba. I think there’s so much history and culture to absorb and I only wished that I had visited before I left Trinidad to live in the UK.
I’m sure this won’t be a surprise…..Maldives! I know it’s such a couples trip but I can’t help but be drawn to the blue skies reflecting off the waters. To me it just signifies peace and tranquility. Hmm wonder if it means that I need a holiday?
Santorini – something about this place has been calling me for a while and I decided to answer its call…finally! So look out for a post on this before the end of the year.
Thailand – I’m sure this is the place that is on most people’s bucket lists and like them it’s on mine too. I don’t have a specific place in mind, all I know is that I’d just like to land and go wherever the waves take me.
Spain – practically on my doorstep but I haven’t been yet. I seem to have an affinity with Spanish speaking countries/cities. Maybe it’s because Trinidad is so close to Venezuela and we have a huge Spanish influence in our culture. Plus I really like the language. Can’t speak fluently but it’s definitely something to work on especially with Duolingo.
I think 5 places over the course of 5 years is pretty do-able, don’t you think? I am remaining open that I will have the opportunity to travel to other places. It doesn’t help that I constantly stalk Hand Luggage Only blog. Every time there’s a post I think my bank account groans loudly 🙂
That’s my list (for now), where do you plan to go? Let me know in the comments below
