The Fitness Bandwagon

Hello again beauties. Hope you’re surviving the week back to work after the holidays? I know it can be pretty harsh but only one more day and it’s the weekend! Yaay!

As you can see from the title I’m talking about fitness today. I haven’t done one for ages in my last post and have wanted to revisit it but it didn’t happen. Given that it’s the beginning of the year, I thought I would share with you my what I will be doing to take better care of myself physically.

First off, I’m not a gym person but if you are then kudos to you. I realise that I’m not one for going to the gym and spending hours. Plus it’s just not financially viable for me to maintain at this point. However, I love going to a class; whether it’s Bikram yoga, Pilates, dancing or something. I love it! I also enjoy working out at home. I’m a huuuge fan of Fitness Blender and always look forward to their workouts on YouTube If you don’t know who they are, you don’t know what you’re missing πŸ™‚

Next up is consistency. I think this is where most people struggle and I’m no stranger to this. For me, I thing it’s because I get bored really quickly. It’s like eating the same food every single day, will bore the living daylights out of me. So to combat this, I am going to add a variety of workouts that I enjoy. Even if it’s just simply dancing around my place for 30 minutes on one occasion then I’m going to do it. As long as I am doing some kind of workout that gets my heart rate up regularly and having fun with it, then it’s a win-win situation.

Finally, it’s commitment. It’s a new year so there’s all this enthusiasm and pressure (more here on that) that pushes us to make a commitment and before you know it, it’s 2 months and nothing’s been done. It’s about appreciating the importance of committing to improving your health. You matter and therefore each time you, we, I push the fitness thing to the back burner, what we’re really saying is that we don’t matter.

Share below how you plan to better look after yourself.

As always thanks for reading and click the follow button on the right to keep up to date with my posts.

Be well

  1. Consistency and commitment are the hard parts, aren’t they? It’s why I’ve started the year with something really, really simple: committing to getting 10,000 steps a day or 30 active minutes as measured by my Fitbit. And then I hope to build on that as the months progress.

Best of luck with your fitness goals!
